Hello my name is Guillermo, aka. William, aka. Zadir, aka. Goatchiiz, aka. Rhino Sr., from the Flying Rhino's, hence the image on top, story later. I started my career as a pilot, having received my Commercial Pilot License from Kendall Flight Academy, I have an AA in Criminal Justice and my BBA from FIU in International Business and Management. I’m seeking my Masters in Human Resources and following my PhD in business or public administration. I currently work for General Mills, where I manage 200 restaurants in Latin America, Caribbean and South Africa. I have worked as a financial planner, retail manager, restaurant manager, cook, cashier, car valet, pilot, and one of my shortest, but most fun jobs was with Fender Guitars in Latin America… I only lasted 4 weeks with them, story some other day!

Today my world revolves around my 4 year old son Noah and my 2 year old daughter Sofia... everything else is secondary.

I was born in Campinas, SP, Brazil in 1969, the year man landed on the moon and the Beatles broke up (although on paper it says 1970). By the time I was 10, I had lived in 5 countries (Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru and the USA). My father held two Doctorates in Chemistry and in Biology, thus one of my many hobbies is to operate a small lab in my house. We were on our way to Europe when he passed away, and because my brother and sisters were already in college, we decided to stay... everyone in my family has moved around, except me... I can't seem to find a better place to live than in Miami.

I define my life based on my passions: Not in any specific order!

Passion #1: Music - I have a home studio, and have recorded over 200 songs. I record on a Tascam 4-track. Some of my gear include a BC Rich Warlock with double Humbucker pickups, Epiphone Les Paul 2, Ovation Standard Acoustic, Palmar Acoustic and Classical, Atlas Acoustic, Casio synthesizer and a 5 piece drum set. I’m currently working on a project called Outer Darkness, which is a mix of Pink Floyd and Marillion.

Passion #2: Travel – in the last 6 years, I have logged 1.25 million miles on American Airlines, plus another 200k on several other airlines and visited 32 countries. Most exciting places I’ve been to?? Island hopping in Tahiti and the Social Islands, driving like a maniac in northern Italy, a week long, mind altering experience in San Francisco to see Iron Maiden live and many other places I could recommend to go or stay away.

Passion #3: Adventure – I have logged 9 successful skydiving jumps from 10k+ feet, I have whitewater rafted and camped in the jungles of the Rio Pacuare in Costa Rica, swan with Black Tip sharks in Tahiti, caged dived in Cancun and successfully hand fed a 12 foot Tiger Shark and drove from Florence to Modena, Italy at 150 mhp in a Fiat Uno, while telling my wife we were going to Venice, but instead I made a detour to Modena to see the Ferrari assembly plant… THAT was the most dangerous thing I have ever done!! I have logged 500+ hours piloting Cessna 150, 152, 172 and Cherokee Piper. The Flying Rhino’s is a club I created for people who want to do crazy & stupid things around the world with me… right now I have only been able to attract one other member, my friend Peter who lives in North Carolina.

Passion #4: Eat and drink – I pretend to be a chef and if I could I would cook every night. I make my own cheese, brew my own beer and grow my own veggies and spices… my son recently broke my 2 fermenters and Hurricane Wilma whipped out my crops… right now I have to buy my beer and I only have basil, eggplant, parsley, mint, cilantro, carrots, green peppers, tomato and jalapeños growing.

Passion #5: Community, Politics and Religion – all the things people say never to talk to friends about because you will end up fighting! I am a Pillar, Young Leader member and was a member of the Disbursement Committee with the United Way of Miami-Dade, I am a Team Leader with the Republican National Committee and an enjoy studding and talking about world religions.

Passion #6: Reading & writing– I enjoy learning, but not for school. I love science, medieval themes and history books. Books that I have and do not let anyone touch - Raymond Feist collection (20 books), Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich". I’m currently writing several books, including “Adventures of Billy Rhino” a book I started writing for my son, an untitled work in the subject of the “Self Responsibility Theory”, which will help people stop blaming the government and everyone else for the problems in the world, and an untitled work in the subject of understanding relationships and women… I’m afraid I will never complete this work.

Passion #7: Business & money– My business partner Jorge and I manage a small restaurant consulting company called R & S Consulting, which has helped open several restaurants in Miami and Mexico City. We also have two pizza restaurant concepts we are working on for Downtown Miami. Poverty is overrated!

Passion #8: Animals – I live with 2 dogs and 3 cats, all rescued from the streets. I USED to raise salt water fishes, but on December 23, 2005, my daughter Sofia dumped spaghetti and meatballs in my tank and killed everything! I have also had birds, snakes and hamsters, but somehow I have managed to kill them all… I’m a member of the International Rhino Foundation.

My 5 years plan is to have my PhD and be more involved in politics.

I’ve been married for 11 years to my wife Tiffany and for some reason she puts up with all my nonsense.
